Sports injuries are injuries that occur during sports activities or exercises. These injuries can range from minor sprains and strains to more serious fractures and head injuries.
Some common sports injuries include
Achilles Tendinitis Management: Calf muscles at the back of the leg to the heel get inflamed by overuse and appropriate treatment helps resolve the problem quickly.
ACL Injuries: ACL provides rotational stability to the knee and sudden stops during sports can injure it. Appropriate technique training along with physical therapy management is very crucial. FAI Syndrome: When there is too much friction of the hip joint, femoroacetabular impingement occurs. Arthroscopic surgery might be warranted to correct the problem.
Golfers Elbow: It does not affect only golfers but also people involved in repetitive hand, wrist or forearm motions such as throwing sports, bowling, baseball, raking, and hammering. Management under expert care renders adequate relief.
Jumpers Knee: It is an overuse injury causing inflammation of patellar tendon and should be treated promptly.
Mallet finger: With injuries such as striking of ball, there can be damage to extensor tendon and the finger cannot be straightened after that. This condition is also referred to as baseball finger. It can mostly be treated without surgery under expert care.
Rotator Cuff Tears: Rotator cuff helps with stabilization of the shoulder joint. Repetitive overhead motions related to sports or occupation can lead to rotator cuff injury/tear which can be quite painful.
Runners Knee: It is the most common cause of knee pain and treatment is planned under expert guidance.
SLAP Tears: People involved in intensely vigorous quick motions over the top of the shoulder are especially at high risk of injuring/tearing of the labrum, such as volleyball players and baseball pitchers. Such injuries can be managed under expert and return to play is planned accordingly.
